No Screenshots / Screen Recording
Brrro does not allow screenshots or screen recordings anywhere inside the app, including chats, groups, voice calls, and video calls. This protection applies across the entire interface, not just individual message threads.
If a user attempts to take a screenshot or start a screen recording while viewing a conversation or inside a call, the other participant is instantly notified in real time, and a visible warning appears on the screen of the person attempting the capture.
Any captured image or recording will render as a black screen, ensuring that no sensitive content is exposed, not even partially. This prevents silent copying, hidden recordings, or unnoticed leaks of private conversations.
Red Button. Leave no trace.
The Red Button exists for moments when privacy cannot wait. With a single tap, a 10-second countdown begins. During those ten seconds, you can cancel. If you don’t, the action completes and the deletion becomes permanent.
You can choose to erase your entire chat list & account or permanently delete a single conversation. Once confirmed, the selected data is destroyed and the associated encryption keys are invalidated. A secure deletion signal is then sent to the network, instructing all devices connected to those conversations to remove the content as well.
When participants reopen the app, the messages, media, and groups involving you are automatically cleared from their device. This is not archiving and it is not concealment. It is irreversible removal.
Emergency Switch
The Emergency Switch is a timed self-protection mechanism designed for situations where access to your device may no longer be safe.
When enabled, the switch activates a countdown based on the duration you choose. If you do not return to the app within that time frame, the configured actions are automatically executed. This can include erasing all messages, contacts, and settings, and optionally notifying a trusted contact by sending out a pre-selected message.
The timer can be set anywhere from one minute to thirty days. As long as you open the app within the selected period, the countdown resets and nothing happens. If the timer expires without interruption, the protection activates silently in the background.
The Emergency Switch is not reactive — it is preventive. It assumes loss of control and acts accordingly. Whether it’s a confiscated device, forced unlock, or unexpected detention, the system is designed to respond even when you cannot.

Encrypted Calls & Video Calls
Brrro secures your voice and video conversations with end-to-end encryption, ensuring that only the people on the call can hear or see what’s being said. There are no intermediaries with access, no hidden listeners, and no stored recordings on our servers.
Every call session establishes fresh encryption keys, meaning each conversation is independently protected. Whether it’s a quick voice check-in or a long video discussion, your communication remains private from start to finish.
We don’t just encrypt messages, we secure real-time conversation as well.
Voice Masking
With Voice Masking enabled, Brrro protects not just what you say, but how you sound.
By tapping the shield button during a call, your voice is altered in real time on-device (before encryption). The other person can clearly understand your words, but your unique vocal signature is transformed. This means that even if someone tries to record the call using a secondary device, the captured audio cannot be used to clone your voice for scams, impersonation, or fraud.
The masking happens live, without noticeable delay, and without affecting call clarity. You remain fully understandable, but no one can extract your biometric voice identity from the conversation.
